Face-to-face vs Face-to-Facebook-2

I blasted him and her with whatever I felt like typing. Worse comes to worst, they could just drop me from their friends list. No hurt feeling. Thats how I am making use of the Facebook as my social device.

Accepted with love or hatred, I proceed my correspondence with them as if I’ve known them for hundred years. Many enjoyed my strange approach and I figured some could not make themselves comfortable being treated as a good friend by a stranger. Thats the fun of approaching thru Facebook compare to face-to-face communication.

I dont have to worry being seen having veggies in between my teeth or being seen in my pajamas. They wouldn't know anyway. I don't have to cover my pimples and pigmentation with inches of foundation. They wouldn't bother how I looked.

I chose the best picture for my profile.Who knows one day I might just change it to one horrible pose. I do change my personality following my mood. Should one day I got up wanting to be naughty, I would correspond with naughtiness, tomorrow I might get up wanting to be good, I would use motivational statements and would give a good tips for life. The next day, I might just get up as a religious and contribute several guidance to a better traits.

I let their imagination go wild on who I am thru Facebook. Its fun.

Another lovable person left us

She was among the first person to welcome me to the family when I first introduced to my hubby’s family then. I wrote about her in 2 of my earlier postings.

Mak Bed, a childless mom , who was a mother to all. She loves children. She was always willing to baby sit anyone’s child. Hence, everyone called her ‘Mak’ (mother). She was my hubby’s distance aunt.

Mak Bed passed away today at 4am. To Penang, my hubby took  the earliest flight he could to attend the funeral, while I could not make it. I m glad  I visited her at the hospital last weekend, though. She was very ill then.

Such a lovable person she was. Her presence had always been a highlight of each family gathering.

We will miss you Mak Bed. Al-Fatihah.

I miss my daughter

Nadia could not leave her hostel since this is her final 2 weeks before her big exam. She told me that. But I missed her . The night before I told my hubby that I wished to visit her on Sunday (Today).

Without thinking twice, we were on our way to Ipoh, where her college is. The supposed to be 2 hours drive with speed limit of  110km/hr took us only 1.5hrs.

She was happy to see us. So were we.

“ but, all students are not allowed to go out”. She said.

I turned to the rear seat. “hmmm…I got an idea. Get in.!”

She happily positioned herself lower for the guard not to see. Of course I felt guilty for giving a bad example to my child, but…….

(hush-hush)“lets go to the shopping mall for a short lunch”. My hubby had no choice but to follow the ladies’ order.

Off we went. We let her enjoyed her favorite food, Japanese. That was mom’s and daughter’s choice.

mamanadia

Her dad doesnt favor Sushi. He just played with his food while listening to her daughter’s stories about her life in the college.

      100420112322 100420112320

Next, not forgetting her room-mates, Nadia stayed in line at McDonald, buying food for her 3 caring friends, while both her parents enjoyed Ice-Cream. YUMMMmmm….

100420112329

Hardly 2 hours, we were back to the boarding school. Again, she had to sit lower to avoid being sighted by the security guards as we passed by the guard house.

We left soon after that. The weather was clear.

 100420112331

Then, about 20 minutes down the road….

100420112335

O’Oooo..!! it changed to darkness, while on the other side of the mountain was still very clear. Before I even commented on the weather, it turned to cats and dog. Heavy rain on and off, until we reached our destination. God must be unhappy with what I’ve done. Forgive me oh God. I miss my daughter.

2 hours later…Home sweet home. Thank God for giving us a safe drive.

Its fun to break rules, sometimes, but DONT DO WHAT I JUST DID, dear good parents out there.

Cup cake gets them together

When the children  decide to bake , let them.

“Today is the day’’. Kitty planned.

Not kitty cat…!!

Her name is Qistina, the only daughter of my eldest sister-in-law. She happened to be in town. While Redza and Nadia were both living in campus, Kitty being the eldest among the amateur bakers, took the lead.

I took her and her younger cousin sister, Laikha to the bakery stores, got all the ingredients needed. Then…………

“off you go kids, just don't mess up you granny’s kitchen too much.”

Kitty was surrounded by volunteers, her cousins, Laikha, Danial, Mikhail and my son Adri. I didn't get involve and didn't bother to check on how they were doing throughout their baking session.

“Tell me when its time for me to come and eat”. I left home and did some house chores.

Later in the evening, I stopped by to have a look.

OH MY GOD..!!! What happened..???

  090420112315   Look Aunty Faida…. 090420112314

090420112318

OH MY GOD..!!!!! AGAIN..??

090420112316

Adri was blamed for using a wrong mixture of flour. HAHA.. what a useful assistant.

“We are making a 3rd attempt”, the leader determined.

All of them were eager waited infront of the oven, with enthusiast.I peeped at the third tray. Hmmm..looks OK….

090420112317

As I turned my back to leave, I heard them shouting of joy.

Yeah!!! At last we did it..!!!

090420112319

“Lets bake again tomorrow”

Ops…! Oh No… sorry for the mess Mummy, it wasn't my idea.

Enjoy you grand childrens’ company.

Penang in a day-2

Dejavu.

We were back. Trip to THE PEARL OF THE ORIENT, Penang Island, was not planned and was not in a convenient time, but what is more important that meeting special person?

Mak Bed, we heard was very ill. I wrote about her in my November 2009 posting. She is such a wonderful and fun person to be with. All the relatives adore her.

So, there we were, leaving from Kuala Lumpur right after the morning prayer, leaving our son alone in the house. He is a big boy, and could take care of himself, anyway.

We reached the island within 4 hours, with 1 stop. Is was a pleasant journey. For the first time I chose to have my early breakfast with an instant noodle, in the car. The rest areas are well maintained.

Crossing over to the island after the 4 hours drive, through the scenic view took about 20 minutes. What a beauty.

Our first stop was at Kak Didi’s. My eldest sister-inlaw. I felt sorry for interrupting her offday. Further more, breakfast was served for us. That was our second breakfast.

Half hour later, we were on our way up to the ward. There was Mak Bed, lying unconsciously, taken care by my dear friend (also relative by marriage), Idah and her daughter, Zahra.

Idah’s hubby, Mohd.Ghouse, has always been the center of news about Mak Bed. He is not her biological son, but Mak Bed is more than a mother to him.

As always, sickness gathers. We met a few close and distant relatives at the hospital too. My father-inlaw and Kak Didi were was among the visitors.

Thinking about Adri (my son) being alone at home, we excused ourselves at noon. But, what is a visit to Penang without Baryani Rice?

After lunch, my hubby made a short tour around this nostalgic town of his. While listening to his elaboration about each place, I spent time snap..snap..snap.

One of the oldest hotel, Malaysia hotel reminds me of my parents who took me there when I was little. Infront of the hotel is where my favorite soup is located. Sup Hameed. Too bad it was yet to open then.

 020420112185

Traffic was clear. Penangites needed a rest on Saturday, while our tour to Penang town continued

When the road is not congested, Penang turns as my favorite town. It has a beauty of its own.

We didnt want to miss a glance to the newly renovated house, which used to be the place where my hubby grown up. Nostalgia Free School Road.

020420112077

Back to the town area. I still enjoy being in this island, no matter how unclean it is on certain areas. In fact, that creates the uniqueness.

At last, it was time to go home. We decided to stopby the college, where my daughter is studying. It was a surprise visit for her. We brought her the Baryani Rice. She loves it.

Hardly half an hour stop, we were already on our way to Kuala Lumpur. I could not ignore the the picturesque view along the way. Its just too awesome to describe. Picture tells.

We reached home at dusk, just like the previous journey.

020420112252

Journey to Penang Island within a day is possible, but you will miss a lot of its food specialties if you do that. Putting a stay for at least 2 nights would be nice.
