Am I still around?

For many weeks we haven't got a chance to gather as a family. My hubby was most of the time away, so did I with my busy travelling schedule, while Nadia was in her boarding school, leaving Adri alone facing his exam season.

Nadia came back yesterday. Last night we went for a simple dinner. We enjoyed the Indonesian dishes at Giza shopping Mall, near my place.

After dinner we stopped by my sister-inlaw’s. It was after 10pm. It was late, but that was the only time available for us to visit her hubby, Wan, who was not feeling well then. Another sister-inlaw was admitted to the nearby hospital, but we could not make time to pay her a visit. Then, there was an aunt of my husband, came all the way from Indonesia for a medical treatment, who also didn't get a visit from us. And I realized that I have not spoken to my parents for that many weeks. I feel bad.

Me? Kickboxing?

Yes I did that the night before. Now its giving me a whole-body-ache, that I don't feel like getting up from my bed.

My trainer had been telling me about starting me on it, since the many previous training sessions, but I kept on getting it postponed with reason ‘ I’m not ready for the violent act’.

Now, I’m left with no choice, but to go for it. So, there I was, punching and kicking. At one time, I accidentally kicked a knee cap. ops..! sorry my trainer, please excuse this 46 yrs old cougar.

I’m ready for another session. HAHH….!!!!

Double detoxification-Meeting old friends

My gym training last night was violent. My trainer put me on my first class of kickboxing. I hate violence!!! Anyway, it was fun and good for building up stamina and strength, especially to an elderly lady like me, who travel quite a lot by my own.

After working out at the gym, I received an unexpected text on my hp. It was from my long lost friend, song composer Yasin, who is an ex-vocalist of a ‘Nasyid’ group called Brothers (group of singers singing Islamic songs). Surprisingly, a few youngsters that we met along the way while looking for a place to sit, still recognized this singer, including my personal trainer.

We planned to meet up to catch up those 10 years of gap. He appeared with another long lost friend, Farihin Abd Fatah, the ex-manager of once very famous ‘Nasyid’ group, Raihan. Farihin was proudly telling me that he just completed composing a ‘Tausug’ song (thats my language, originated from southern Philippines).

We spent about an hour chatting at the nearest cafe, sharing photos of our grown up kids. Both got me to translate the ‘Tausug’ song that they were working on. Within 10 years, I’ve changed a lot in appearance and size, while those 2 guys are still looking as 10 years ago. What the h…!

10 years of depart, but our old jokes are still intake. Both with their hilarious character could not stop me from laughing all the way. It was a healthy night for me. I detoxified myself with exercises and laughter.

Sleeping with cockroach?

Yesterday, I had to be in Kuantan for a meeting and decided to put a night. Grand Continental sounded good, so I checked in to the hotel. Little that I knew that the room 619 (nice number) was invaded by young cockroaches. Many of them.

No way..!!

JUMPED..!!!! to the telephone and called the House Keeping Dept. A nice and friendly lady came with ‘Baygon’ spray, my favorite brand, known to kill the insect within a minute. If not for her friendliness, I could have made a big fuss out of the matter.

She sprayed the insect killer all over the room and ensured me that it was OK. I awarded her with a little tip, not because she murdered those creatures, but because she was nice to me. She then reported my agony to the management and I was transferred to another room. Without confidence, I asked for the Baygon to be left for me to use in the new room, just in case.

20 minutes later, I walked in to a new room. Room 824 was fortunately clean but the Air-Conditioner system was too loud.

Should I make another report? but what if…… oh no-no…

Think again… sleeping with cockroaches or with noise.?

I chose the noise.

Where are you 'lil kitty?

Remember this little white stray kitty? She is now missing. She could have been killed by a stray dog or perhaps adopted by pasers by. I bathed her once and I fell in love with her. Now she is no where to be found. Bye little thing.

Seminar week- Me among my clients

It was the seminar that causing busy-ness to my recent calendar. Most of us (the staff) were at Kuala Terengganu from Mon-Thur, last couple of weeks.

It was fun meeting the clients. Since I have difficulty associating the face and the site, I most of the time had problem identifying who is from where. So, I just pretended I knew and asked my colleague who that was, later.

Presenting on the stage is fun at times, but it doesn't when the presentation system doesn't work well, like what happened to mine. Anyhow, one should continue the show pretending as if everything works well, like what I did then. I hate Murphy’s law.

On the first day, I decided to wear scarf, that surprises everybody who saw me it it for the first time, BUT it kept on dropping from my head to the point that I could not focus on the presentation. So, on the next day, I appeared without it. Again, a surprise for everyone. LOL..!

Terengganu is located on the east coast of Malaysia. It is famous of its ‘Keropok Lekor’ (Fish sausage), beautiful hand drawn batik materials and many more local products. I found turtle eggs at the local market called ‘Pasar Payang’ and ate one of them there and then, infront of the seller.

The seminar went well. We ended the session with a boat cruise along the riverside, overseeing the Kuala Terengganu Town, the beautiful and unique Crystal Mosque, the fishermen village and boat production  sites.

I love the river cruising so much that I forgot about my migraine for a while.

After the boat ride, we boarded a buggy and went around a miniature islamic garden, featuring miniature mosques from all over the world.

TO my friend, JTPatryck, your call came in when I was on tour to the miniature garden. See me in action, while talking to you.

Its a lonely week :-(

Yeah true I was busy, but it didnt stop me from feeling lonely. As I came back from a few trips, my hubby had to go out of town for the whole 10 days. That leaving me sleeping alone. No wonder I got a headache often.

Yesterday (Sunday), my son (Adri) and I drove all the way to Gopeng, Ipoh to visit Nadia at her boarding school. I woke up early and cooked dishes upon her request. She misses her mom's cooking.

That was my first time driving to the place. Base on the speed limit, it takes about 2 hours. It took me 1.5hrs as I was driving 140km/hr, following the others. Not surprisingly though, despite the sign 'Zone perangkap had laju', those cars were so fast passing mine. So 140km/hour is not that fast after all. I guess, I just need to wait for love letter from the police. (summon).

Then there was Wan, my bro-inlaw, who decided to spend a good rest at the hospital. He was having such a long period of fever, which was more than 10 days. Thank God it was just viral fever, as I was told. The hospital is so close to my house and I couldnt even find time to drop by. What a sister.
 Get well soon bro!

2 more days, I will be driving out of town again leaving my son alone. Im getting the maid to stay a night to accompany him. Its an exam time and I couldn't be around to support him, while his dad is still away, working hard for money. My poor boy... my poor hubby and pitiful me... What a lonely week.

The Welcoming-Migraine

I just came back from a 4-days stay in Kuala Terengganu, the state famous of its 'Keropok Lekor' (Fish sausage). I went to attend seminar, which I did an impromptu closing speech to about 100 people. I wasnt nervous at all. The secret is, spend time to get to know the people before hand. Come early, talk to everyone as much as you could, by any chance.

The people there are with great hospitalities. The food are to my liking. The sceenery and the surrounding are a mixture of modern and traditional. I like the state. I dont have much to say about the night life though. There is no club or any sort of night entertainment. or perhaps I didnt have much time to wonder around, other than looking for places to eat during my stay.

Car rental is available at the airport with the range from RM190/day( USD65). I stayed in Permai Inn a 2.5star (base on my own category)hotel which is located along the main road parallel to The Batu Burok Beach, not too far from the downtown of KT. You will need a car to move around though.

I guess I've been stuffed throughout the seminar day that I came back with migraine. Same thing seems to happen on my every trip. Ok, I accepted, Im no longer getting younger.

Up to posting this journal, I am still feel the throbbing sensation in my head. ArrggHHHhh...!!!!
