I was surrounded by close family. We had a good seafood dinner in Shah Alam. We love the sweet & sour crab. Then we had another food gathering plus prayers. Food and religious activity.
Felt like it was just hours ago. We had good dinner together. We talked. We had a good laughter.
Next morning I was already driving to the airport (45 minutes journey), then boarding a flight(55 minutes flying time) , then I found myself cruising in a rental car, towards up north The Peninsular Malaysia( 1 hour). My meeting was to be held in Kangar, Perlis.
I enjoyed my driving though. So peaceful without hearing the voice of my over-talkative maid, back home.
Today, I drove alone and lonely ….
Passing by paddy fields was refreshing. Too bad the weather was not supporting. HOT..!!!
Unlike in my previous trip, this time those farmers just harvested the produce. Not as green now.
I took the first flight from Kuala Lumpur. I arrived too early for my after lunch meeting . The gave me ample time to divert my driving farther to the Duty Free Zone area, ‘Bukit Kayu Hitam’, located about 36km from Perlis State, where I was heading.Ops..! I didn't tell my hubby about this detour. I didn't want to worry him, I guess.
I drove into the industrial area. Wrong way! U-Turned.
Next, I drove into the villages . Wrong way again..!! U-Turned
In the middle of no where, I passed by a golf field.
huh..?? These golfers…They make an effort to get into the jungle?
I decided. I surrendered, and stopped a passers by and asked where is the so-called Bukit Kayu Hitam, one of my mom’s favorite shopping place.
At last! I reached the place. I stoppedby a stall for a quick lunch. I thought of turning back to continue my journey to Perlis, but I thought..since I’ve reached the area…why not..? go for it girl..
So I did. After lunch, I joined the line of cars towards the immigration area, where I had to show my identification card to be verified. I told the guy that I wasnt planning to cross over to Thailand. No passport required. He let me passed.
I continued my journey. It was just about 500m from the immigration check, I reached the Duty Free Zone.
I found a few items slightly cheaper from where I am living. I also found items having similar price to those I found in KL.
I wasnt there to shop, so, I left without buying anything at all. I'm surprise that I could control my shopping temptation. Wow..!! I’m proud of myself.
Not even half an hour, I was on my way to Perlis.
My meeting over at around 5pm. It was rainy REAL HEAVY…
The following hour I spent driving round and round the down town of Kangar. I lost my way and found it somehow.
Time for me to rest. Putra Palace Hotel is not bad. sleepable(if there is such vocab).
