Football (Soccer) SUZUKI Cup 2010

Football day on boxing day.

It was Malaysian team Vs Indonesian. Did I need to be among the crowd? My hubby said YES. So I went with him, my son(Adri) and my brother (Asri).

It was packed, sweaty, loud and WOW..!

My advise if you ever need to go to the Bukit Jalil Stadium is, DO NOT drive. Take the train instead. Park your car at the train station and buy a return train ticket.Set your mind that its going to be packed. Of course it is.

From KL-Sentral station, we took PUTRA-LRT to Mesjid Jamek Station. Then we had to switch to STAR-LRT that took us straight to the stadium.

The train was full of yellow shirts (Malaysian team’s color). It was full of jokes as if everyone knew each other. We were going towards the same destination..Malaysia Boleh!!

The moment the door was open. Almost everyone,  shouted for the same slogan MALAYSIA BOLEH !!.  Loud horn blown creating more havoc to the atmosphere. I wanted to join the shouting, but I was too busy looking for food. I wished the guys didnt rushed me. Laksa Asam, Chicken Wing Sabah, Fish ball, Sup Lidah, Kacang Kuda, Burger, wow.. so many I wanted to eat.

Entering the stadium reminded me of entering the great mosque at Mecca, except the environment at the stadium was greater than a thunder. It was such a beautiful sight though. Just like on TV.

We were seated at the Grand Stand, but it didnt promise any comfort. Whenever the ball rolling close to the goal post, those men seated infront of me stood up with their Malaysian flag raised up, totally covering my sight. Some irresponsible people poured water on us, from up above. And thats what I paid for. RM50/seat at the Grand Stand.

There was a slight commotion when some irresponsible spectators used laser light on the Indonesian goal keeper. The match almost postponed. The Sultan of Pahang, who is very fond of soccer went down to the field and talked to the team’s official. Announcement were made to the spectators about it.

The last result : Malaysia 3 – Indonesia 0

Going out of the stadium was another havoc that we had to go through. This time, we stopped at Salak South (Salak Selatan) station. Then took ERL-transit straight to KL-Sentral. RM 1.90/person (USD 0.60 only). We reached home at around 11.30pm.

Going to soccer match is a man’s thing. Of course we ladies are allowed to join, but we will not feel welcomed being among them. So, think before you go.
