Yes, we were there again yesterday. Twice within a month. I couldn't get enough of the beautiful sight and the cool air. The 2 hours journey through the winding road caused my daughter to puke though. But it didn't deter us from proceeding and enjoying the greens.
Nadia missed the most recent trip. This time, we fetched her from the boarding school and drove the 2 hours journey up to the highland. We stopped by the tea plantation, had ‘Teh Tarik (tea) ang English scones.
It was late and the night market stall owners have started their business. Instead of checking in to the hotel, we decided to stopby to buy some fresh veggies. Oh..I love it..love it..love it.. besides those newly plucked vegetables, you could also find Roses, carnation, orchids, cute ‘lil cactuses, sweet corns, crystal bracelets, brooches and other cute ornaments and many more. It was a paradise for mother and daughter.
Next, we had steamboat for dinner, then checked in to our hotel, at last.
We stayed at the same hotel as we previously did. Heritage Hotel, located up the hill , with beautiful scenery seen from the balcony. Nice view indeed. We were informed that there were many long stayed Japanese at the hotel. They stay for months. Wow! How I wished I could afford.
Not much of activities to do at this place, especially when the plan was to have a relaxing vacation. My hubby and Adri went to bed early, while Nadia watch movie, and there I was with my laptop giggling to myself having Facebook on my screen.
On the next morning, after a heavy breakfast, we went to our regular morning activity at the highland, doing grocery by the roadside. The place is located at an area called Brincang(Breen-Chunk).
Honey comb is a must to buy. Pure and natural sweetness.
Sexy ladies with smooth complexion.. WOooo….what an excellence tomatoes could do to your skin.… buy..buy..buy..
Oh I got a little bouquet of fresh flowers on the 13th Feb. An early Valentine’s day celebration or cheaper roses? (To my loving husband, I love you even if I don't get any flowers on Valentine’s day my dear.)
On the way down from Brincang, Phew..!! look at the traffic. I'm glad we were earlier that those people.
STOP..!!! Durian stall! Yummy….
I just love the durian at Cameron.
Next, we stopped by the nostalgic place for tea. Smoke House without a smoke. Its an old hotel. This hotel exists ever since I could remember. My kids love the beautiful English settings and deco. The only lacking from the place is friendliness.
The entrance to the compound was guarded. Only patrons allowed entrance. We said, we wanted to check on the room rate, as we were planning to stay there on our next visit and being a tour agent, my hubby planning to recommend the place to his guests. The guard passed us the room rate, instead of allowing us to enter to the reception. I looked at my husband with question mark.
Then I asked, if we could go to the cafe. Again, instead of allowing our entrance, he passed us the menu, just in case if the tea was too expensive for the people like us(Me, suddenly getting negative thinking). OMG! I’ve never came across such treatment. Anyway, it wasn't the guard’s intention, he was just doing it by instruction from the hotel management.
When we confirmed to have tea at the place, he allowed us to enter. At the reception, it was nicely decorated, but DARN! quiet. No greeting. I was confused. I looked around for any sign board that says ‘Keep silence’. but none.
At last, an elderly lady (close relative to the owner, as we were told) approached us. “Yes?” She asked with curiosity.
When my hubby explained that we were there just to have a look at the nostalgic place . “oh”, she said acknowledging, then turned and walked away. I swear to God, I didn't notice a slight smile on her face, until much later when she saw us ordering from the cafe.
Anyway… we ordered tea, scones (claimed to be the best scones in town) and coffee, that cost us RM41 (USD13). The tea came in a pot and a little too much for a non-tea-lover to consume. My husband asked for an extra empty cup.
“Sorry, we don't provide an extra cup”, the waitress told. OMG..!!!
OK..ok.. Enuf said about the most well-known place called SMOKE HOUSE. They just lost a potential customers. The room ranges from RM500-Rm800/night (USD160-260). Minus the unfriendliness, the place is convenient for honeymooners.
We enjoyed the scenery somehow, and took many photographs of the surroundings.
After the ‘different’ experience, we shot back to the hotel and check-out. The winding journey down the hill was again causing nausea to Nadia. Good that she fell asleep most of the journey, while my hubby and I nonstop chatting and munching tid-bits to stay awake.
It was drizzling and foggy. Nice view though. I couldn't had enough of the tropical beauty.
We reached home at just right for an evening prayers.
